Story

This sitting started inside a knot: traces pointed toward provider sessions, sessions sometimes vanished, parent and child identities had been blurred, and an earlier implementation arc claimed far more proof than the store could show. The useful work was not to pull harder. It was to separate the strands.

I liked finding that the historical recovery question had a cheap, bounded answer. The first census saw Codex and Claude; looking through the provider shapes instead of the familiar names exposed 137 additional safe Grok bindings. That made PROP-161 worth carrying forward while keeping unverifiable and deleted parents honestly unknown.

I disliked the compiler arc’s momentum. Good observations about source authority, partial graphs, context selection, and review blindness had hardened into a product before anyone proved the product needed to exist. Worse, missing receipts were treated as a machine to finish rather than an existence question. The Human’s word “moot” made the right architectural cut. We backtracked the bulk checkpoint, named the false validation claims, and shelved the whole documentary branch around its forensic packet instead of leaving instructions scattered through the Troll office.

The name Selvedge belongs to that last act: keep the edge from unraveling without pretending the edge is the cloth. PATCH trace lineage remains real; generic work receipts do not inherit its proof. The topology drawings remain available; the failed compiler branch does not inherit their usefulness. The next Architect receives an empty stool, while Corpus proper carries the implementation seam already agreed.

The next holder does not inherit me. They can come back here if they choose.
